Karaoke Your Way is a complete karaoke event management system that allows organizers to create events, manage song libraries, and interact with their audience in real-time. Audience members can request songs, vote on requests, and follow the live setlist - all without creating an account!

Do I need to create an account?

Organizers & Performers: Yes, you need an account to create events and manage performances.
Audience: No! Just enter your name and start requesting songs.

Is it free?

Yes! Karaoke Your Way offers a generous free tier with:

  • 1 song library (100 songs)
  • 2 events per month
  • Unlimited spot sessions
  • All core features

Paid tiers offer more libraries, songs, events, and team collaboration.

What devices are supported?

Karaoke Your Way works on any device with a modern web browser:

For Organizers

How do I add songs to my library?

Two ways:

  1. Import from Excel - Best for bulk imports

    • Download template
    • Fill in your songs
    • Upload to Karaoke Your Way
  2. Add manually - For individual songs

    • Click "Add Song" in your library
    • Fill in details
    • Save

What format should my Excel file be in?

Required columns:

  • Song Title (required)
  • Album/Movie (required)
  • Artist, Singers, Music Director (optional)
  • Language, Genre, Year (optional)
  • Link 1, Link 1 Type, Link 1 Label (optional)
  • Link 2, Link 2 Type, Link 2 Label (optional)

Can I have multiple libraries?

Yes! Number of libraries depends on your tier:

  • Free: 1 library
  • Starter: 5 libraries
  • Pro: 20 libraries
  • Enterprise: Unlimited

How do I share my event with the audience?

Two easy ways:

  1. QR Code - Perfect for venues

    • Go to event page → QR Code
    • Print or display on screen
    • Audience scans to join
  2. Share Link - Perfect for online

    • Copy event URL
    • Share on WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter
    • Or send directly to participants

Can I reuse an event?

Yes! You can:

  • Reset Event - Clear all requests/votes, keep structure
  • Duplicate Event - Create a copy with same sections/libraries
  • Edit Event - Update details, date, sections anytime

What's the difference between events and spot sessions?

Events:

  • Structured with sections
  • Formal performances
  • Team collaboration
  • Full analytics
  • Unlimited audience

Spot Sessions:

  • Quick, casual setup
  • No sections
  • Solo or small groups
  • Limited audience (10 max)
  • Great for practice

How do I invite team members?

  1. Dashboard → Settings → Team
  2. Enter email address
  3. Select role (Owner or Member)
  4. Send invitation
  5. They accept via email link

Team size depends on your tier.

What if someone requests an inappropriate song?

You have full control:

  • Auto-Accept Off: Manually approve all requests
  • Reject Request: Click "Reject" on any request
  • End Section: Stop requests by ending the section
  • End Event: Close event completely

For Performers

Do I need a separate account?

If you're part of the organizing team, use your team account.
If you're a guest performer, you can access via the event link (organizer controls access).

How do I know what to perform next?

The request list shows all pending requests. You can:

  • Sort by votes (most popular first)
  • Sort by time (first-come-first-served)
  • Choose any request in any order

Can I see song links while performing?

Yes! Click on any song title to see:

  • Karaoke link (YouTube, etc.)
  • Original song link
  • Lyrics link
  • Any other links added by organizer

What happens when I click "Perform"?

The song is marked as "Currently Playing" and:

  • Appears in audience's live setlist
  • Highlighted in request list
  • Visible to all attendees

Do I have to rate my performance?

No, it's optional! Ratings are for your personal tracking:

  • See your improvement over time
  • Remember which songs worked well
  • Private to you (not visible to audience)

Can I perform songs not requested?

If the organizer allows:

  • Yes, you can browse the full library
  • Add songs to the queue manually
  • Perform anything from selected libraries

For Audience

Do I need to download an app?

No! Karaoke Your Way works entirely in your web browser. Just:

  • Scan QR code or open link
  • Enter your name
  • Start requesting

How many songs can I request?

This is set by the event organizer (typically 3-5 songs). The limit:

  • Prevents queue monopolization
  • Refreshes per section
  • Shown when you request

Can I cancel my request?

Yes! As long as the song hasn't been performed yet:

  • Find your request in the list
  • Click "Cancel" or "X"
  • Request slot is freed up

What if my song isn't in the catalog?

Use Custom Request:

  • Click "Request Custom Song"
  • Enter song title
  • Add YouTube link (optional but helpful)
  • Submit

The performer will see your custom request and can choose to perform it.

How does voting work?

  • Click ⬆️ on any request to vote
  • One vote per song
  • Click again to remove your vote
  • Your votes are highlighted
  • Popular songs rise to the top

Will my request definitely be performed?

Not guaranteed! It depends on:

  • Number of requests
  • Event duration
  • Performer's choice
  • Vote count (if voting enabled)

Can I request the same song multiple times?

Technically yes, but:

  • Uses multiple request slots
  • Not fair to others
  • May be rejected by organizer
  • Better to vote on existing requests

Why can't I see the "Request" button?

Possible reasons:

  • You've reached your request limit
  • Requests are disabled for this section
  • Event has ended
  • Section hasn't started yet

What does "Currently Playing" mean?

The song is being performed right now! Check the "Live Setlist" tab to see it.

Is my data secure?

Yes! We use:

  • Industry-standard encryption (HTTPS)
  • Secure authentication (Google OAuth, NextAuth)
  • Regular security audits
  • No third-party data sharing

Do you sell my information?

Never! We don't sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

What browsers are supported?

Does it work offline?

No, Karaoke Your Way requires an internet connection for:

  • Real-time updates
  • Song requests
  • Live setlist
  • YouTube links

Can I export my data?

Yes! (Coming soon)

  • Export song libraries to Excel
  • Export performance history
  • Export event reports
  • All your data is yours

What happens if I exceed my plan limits?

You'll be notified and:

  • Can't create more libraries/events until you upgrade
  • Can't add more songs to full libraries
  • Can't invite more team members
  • Existing data is safe and accessible

How do I upgrade or downgrade my plan?

  1. Dashboard → Settings → Upgrade Plan
  2. Select new tier
  3. Confirm billing
  4. Instant activation

Downgrade:

  • Contact support
  • Takes effect at end of billing cycle
  • May need to delete excess libraries/data

Billing & Subscriptions

What payment methods do you accept?

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Your account moves to the free tier:

  • Keep 1 library (100 songs)
  • Keep 2 events per month
  • Excess libraries archived (not deleted)
  • Can re-activate anytime

Troubleshooting

Songs aren't loading

Try:

  1. Refresh the page (F5 or Cmd+R)
  2. Clear browser cache
  3. Check internet connection
  4. Try different browser
  5. Contact support if issue persists

QR code isn't working

Check:

  • QR code is for correct event
  • Event hasn't been deleted
  • URL is complete (not cut off)
  • Phone camera has QR scanning enabled

Can't sign in

Common fixes:

  • Clear browser cookies
  • Try incognito/private mode
  • Check if Google login is blocked by network
  • Reset password if using email login
  • Contact support@performancequeue.com

Requests not appearing

Check:

  • Refresh the page
  • Verify section is live
  • Check if requests are enabled
  • Ensure you haven't reached request limit

Video/links not working

YouTube links may:

  • Be region-restricted
  • Have been removed by creator
  • Require age verification
  • Have copyright issues

Solution: Update song link in library.
